SheetSync — Terms of Service
Last updated: 8 July 2026 · Effective: 8 July 2026
1. Agreement
These terms are between you and Samuel Stevens, trading as SheetSync (“SheetSync”, “we”, “us”). By creating an account or using SheetSync, you agree to them. If you don’t agree, please don’t use the service.
2. What SheetSync does — and what it doesn’t
SheetSync is a software tool that helps you send your quarterly property income and expense updates to HMRC under Making Tax Digital for Income Tax, from Google Sheets.
Important — scope:
- SheetSync submits your quarterly updates only. It does not complete your year-end final declaration or your overall Self Assessment tax return.
- You remain fully responsible for your tax affairs, for meeting your own deadlines, and for the accuracy of every figure you submit. SheetSync sends the numbers you provide; it does not check, calculate, or verify them.
- SheetSync is software, not tax advice. We are not accountants or tax advisers, and nothing in the product is advice about your tax position.
- SheetSync is independent and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or operated by HMRC.
3. Eligibility & your account
You must be a UK taxpayer responsible for property income and eligible to use HMRC’s Making Tax Digital service. You’re responsible for keeping access to your email (used for sign-in) secure, and for activity under your account.
4. Subscription, payment & renewal
- SheetSync costs £49 per year, taken via Stripe.
- Your subscription renews automatically each year unless you cancel before the renewal date.
- You can cancel any time from your account; cancellation takes effect at the end of your current paid year, and you keep access until then.
5. Refunds
If you’re a consumer, you have a legal right to cancel within 14 days of purchase under the Consumer Contracts Regulations. Because SheetSync is a digital service, by starting to use it within that period you agree we may begin providing it, which may affect that right. Beyond this, fees are non-refundable except where required by law.
6. Acceptable use
You agree to use SheetSync lawfully, to submit only true and accurate figures, to comply with HMRC’s rules, and not to misuse, disrupt, reverse-engineer, or attempt to gain unauthorised access to the service.
7. Your data
Our handling of your personal data is described in our Privacy Policy. In short: your tax figures are never stored on our systems, and your HMRC tokens are held encrypted.
8. Availability
We work hard to keep SheetSync available, but we provide it “as is” and “as available.” Submissions depend on HMRC’s systems, which are outside our control; we’re not responsible for HMRC downtime or changes to HMRC’s service.
9. Liability
Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot legally be limited (such as for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or fraud). Subject to that, and to the maximum extent permitted by law:
- We are not liable for any tax, penalties, interest, or loss arising from figures you submit, missed deadlines, or errors in the data you provide, except to the extent directly caused by our own fault.
- Our total liability to you in any 12-month period is limited to the fees you paid us in that period.
- We are not liable for indirect or consequential loss.
10. Intellectual property
We own SheetSync and its software and templates. You own your data and your Google Sheets. We grant you a personal, non-transferable right to use SheetSync while your subscription is active.
11. Suspension & termination
You can stop using SheetSync and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or end access if you breach these terms or misuse the service. On termination, your right to use SheetSync ends and your data is handled per the Privacy Policy.
12. Changes
We may update these terms; we’ll post the new version and update the date, and notify you of significant changes by email. Continued use after changes means you accept them.
13. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and disputes are subject to the courts of England and Wales.
